We made it to Neah Bay mostly motoring into flat seas. Just a little 30 knot head winds coming into Port Angles on Wednesday and 25 coming into Neah Bay on Thursday. But, not bad. Neah Bay is quite a friendly place. A dry town so I had a forced march to the store for beer in PA before departure. Glad I did, we met some Ha Ha participants–Dave & Becky from Gig Harbor here. Call for celebration. We’ll be leaving together in the morning.
On our morning run today we scoped out the Tribal museum, looked like a must do, but last minute boat projects prevented a real visit. One thing that I will remember about thlis place is “indian tacos” made with fry bread. mmmm.
We’re off tomorrow at 4:00 am with a pretty favorable forecast for north winds to carry us to Newport, hopefully arriving mid-day on Sunday. Rogue Brewery for dinner.
Everyone is a little nervous, especially Lucy–is the grass mat big enough?
We’ll see.

Carmanah all svelt and ready for sea. Note the deflated dinghy lashed to foredeck with room for the inner forestay still.
